Only if you choose to share a take. Pitch detection, correction, harmony, backing-track playback and recording all run inside the app on your Mac. Ohms Tune has no account, no telemetry and no analytics, it makes no network connections of its own, and its privacy manifest declares that no data is collected. It downloads no model, so there is nothing to fetch after you install it.

Ohms Tune measures the pitch of your voice as you sing, works out the key (or uses the root and major or minor scale you set), and pulls each note toward the nearest pitch in that key. Correction strength runs from 0 to 100 percent: low values leave most of your phrasing alone, and 100 percent snaps hard. The needle shows how many cents flat or sharp each note sits.

Ohms Tune adds one or two diatonic harmony voices to your corrected lead. Choose Third + Fifth, Third only, Fifth only, or Octave, with per-voice levels. Intervals follow scale degrees in the detected or manually selected key, and each voice keeps its interval above you at every correction strength. A new voicing applies to your next take.

Ohms Tune plays your corrected voice back live. Through speakers that sound reaches the microphone and feeds back, so wear headphones whenever you sing. The recording screen shows the same reminder before every take.

Yes, over a backing track you own. Import an instrumental or karaoke track, mono or stereo, in a format such as WAV, AIFF, MP3 or M4A. It plays under your voice while you record and is mixed into the take exactly as imported. Ohms Tune does not remove vocals from a full mix; Ohm Split does that on your Mac.

Every take lands in the Takes list as an AAC .m4a file. Audition it in the app, load two takes into the A and B slots to compare them, rename a take (the file is renamed and the audio is never re-encoded), star one as your keeper, and move the rest to the Trash, where you can still recover them. When a take ends you can share it or reveal it in Finder.

No. Recording is explicit, never ambient: a take starts when you select Start singing or press Space, and ends when you select Stop & save or press Space again. There is no background or always-on capture, and what you record stays on your Mac unless you share it.

No. Once Ohms Tune is installed from the Mac App Store there is nothing else to download, and it works fully offline.
