Privacy policy.

The current policy is: nothing is collected.

The short version

Silo Veil collects no data. None.

No account, analytics, advertising identifiers or telemetry. File processing runs locally on your Mac. Silo Systems receives no documents, media, pasted text, passwords, private notes or processing results from the app.

Silo Veil uses native frameworks and a bundled helper for local processing. It has no cloud service, network listener, automatic model download or remote processing endpoint.

Outbound traffic you initiate

External services are involved only when you use the following system features or links:

  1. App Store updates. When Apple ships a Silo Veil update, the App Store delivers it. This traffic is between your device and Apple's servers. Silo Veil is not involved.
  2. Links you click. If you click an external link inside the app, your default browser handles the request. Silo Veil is not involved.

Permissions we request, and why

  • Files and folders you choose. Read selected inputs, process private temporary copies, and export verified results to the output folder you choose. Passwords and private notes are not saved in settings.

Silo Veil does not request protected resources beyond those listed above. System permission controls remain in effect at all times.

On-device data you create

Preferences, saved styling presets and remembered folder access stay in the macOS app container at ~/Library/Containers/com.silosystems.siloveil/. Processing uses private temporary copies, excluded from system backup and cleaned after processing or on a later launch after an interruption. Passwords and private notes are not saved in settings.

Selected input files are read for the operation you request. New output files are saved only to the folder you choose. Your originals are not overwritten. Exports and text you copy to the clipboard follow your own backup, clipboard and sharing settings, including any synchronization you enable outside Silo Veil.

Clear passwords and revealed text clears current secret and result fields; it does not erase the clipboard. Forget folder removes remembered output-folder access. Removing the app may leave its sandbox data in place; macOS storage controls can remove that data. Exported files remain until you delete them.

Bundled processing components

The app includes open-source document and image processing components that run locally inside its sandbox. They do not contact their authors or transmit your files. License notices are included with the app. No model download is required.

Support and external links

If you choose to email support, we receive the message and attachments you send. Do not send passwords or private files. Your email provider and browser handle those requests under their own privacy policies. The website privacy policy describes visiting this site.

Children's privacy

The app does not collect personal information from any user, regardless of age.

Changes

If we ever materially change how Silo Veil handles data, we will publish an updated version of this page, announce the change prominently in the release notes, and require explicit consent in-app before any new collection begins. The current policy is: nothing is collected.
