Does OhmsCounsel upload my documents?

No. Documents are imported into a local library and analyzed on-device using Apple's MLX framework. They never leave your Mac. The only outbound traffic is the optional model-weight download you trigger in Settings, which never includes your documents.

No. OhmsCounsel provides informational document analysis only. It is not legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship. It is designed to make your own review faster, not to replace a qualified attorney.

What does Contract Integrity verify?

Accepted Answer

Coming in version 1.3.0; not in the current App Store download. A deterministic local pass checks defined terms, numbering, and explicit section or exhibit references. Each finding links to its exact stored character span and to a page when available. You confirm or reject findings; the source is never modified.

Do citations guarantee that an answer is correct?

No. Version 1.3.0 citation coverage and unsupported-claim flags are in preparation and are not in the current download. They withhold a weak answer, but a citation remains a review trail, not proof that a claim is legally or factually correct.

How does the Clause Playbook work?

You define your preferred positions for the clauses you care about (and an optional acceptable fallback). OhmsCounsel then checks any imported contract against them and classifies each as meets, fallback, deviates, or missing, with a citation and a coverage score.

What Mac do I need?

Accepted Answer

OhmsCounsel requires macOS 14 or later and an Apple Silicon Mac. Settings recommends a Gemma 4 size for your unified memory and discloses the exact download, memory fit, and free-disk requirement before consent; the smallest option is about 3.58 GB and needs about 6.27 GB free including safety headroom.

Can I cancel a model download or delete local agreement data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Settings can cancel a transfer without publishing a partial model, resume verified files later, and remove a managed model. Import can purge one agreement's imported bytes, extracted text, local search data, analyses, decisions, and chat after explicit confirmation; separately saved exports are never deleted.
