Why this exists

Privacy is a professional
tool too.

Silo Systems builds tools for people who would rather not hand their work to someone else's server. OhmsCounsel applies that discipline to contract review: a faster first read that runs entirely on the machine you already own.

Offline by default

No cloud inference. None.

Import, summarization, key-term extraction, playbook review, draft comparison, retrieval, and storage stay on your Mac. Gemma 4 analysis runs locally through Apple's MLX framework after a model download you explicitly approve.

Coming in version 1.3.0

Mechanical findings you can inspect.

The incoming deterministic pass checks defined terms, numbering, and explicit references. Each finding includes its exact source span and page when the imported format preserves pages, plus a confirm or reject decision that never changes the source.

Coming in version 1.3.0

Evidence is visible, not magical.

The incoming grounded-answer review adds exact citations, coverage, unsupported-claim flags, and abstention when evidence is weak. A citation is a review trail, not proof. OhmsCounsel remains informational analysis, not legal advice.

Questions.

No. Documents are imported into a local library and analyzed on-device using Apple's MLX framework. They never leave your Mac. The only outbound traffic is the optional model-weight download you trigger in Settings, which never includes your documents.
