Install the free
Matador Host.
Matador Host is the menu-bar companion that runs on your Mac. It discovers your iPhone or iPad on the network, approves each device with an X25519 key exchange, and serves the terminals and AI coding agents that Matador drives. It's free, notarized by Apple, and never phones home.
Two ways to install.
direct dmg · homebrewDownload the DMG.
Open the disk image, drag Matador Host to Applications, and launch it. It lives in your menu bar. Because the build is notarized, Gatekeeper opens it without warnings.

Prefer the terminal? Install from the Silo Systems tap. Homebrew fetches the same notarized DMG and keeps it current with brew upgrade.
Matador Host is the free companion to Matador for iPhone and iPad. Install the host, open its menu-bar popover, and scan the pairing QR with Matador to approve the device on your Mac. The host is sandbox-free by design so it can spawn real terminals and the AI agents installed on your machine — nothing leaves your Mac.
