privacy · analysis · requirementsNo. Tempo change, chord and key detection, loops, and the loop coach all run on your device. There is no cloud service, no account, and no telemetry. Every song you import, and the analysis made from it, stays on your Mac or iPad.
Ohms Rehearse uses Apple's time-pitch engine to play a song anywhere from 25% to 150% of its original speed without changing its pitch, and the tempo readout shows the effective BPM as you go. Transpose is separate, up or down 12 semitones. Loops snap to the bar grid, so marking a hard measure is one drag, not counting samples.
Ohms Rehearse estimates the key and the chord progression on your device and lines the chords up with the waveform, so you can see each change as it arrives. Every chord shows how sure the analysis is, and the uncertain ones carry a question mark and an amber underline so you know which to check. The analysis is classical signal processing with no randomness, so the same file analyzes the same way each time, and any chord can be corrected, with the correction saved per song.
No. Ohms Rehearse concentrates on practice: slowing, transposing, looping, chords and the loop coach. Splitting a song into stems is the job of Ohm Split, a separate Silo Systems app. What Ohms Rehearse offers instead is Listen / Play: the coach alternates a pass with the recording and a pass with it silent, so you carry the part yourself.
MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF, FLAC and M4A files you own, up to ten minutes long. On the Mac, drag a file onto the window or use the file picker; on iPad, import it from Files.
On the Mac, yes: Settings lists your audio output devices and Ohms Rehearse plays through the one you pick. The iPad version has no picker of its own.
A Mac running macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, or an iPad running iPadOS 18 or later. There is no iPhone version.
Ohms Rehearse is a one-time purchase of $8.99 on the App Store, and the same purchase covers the Mac and iPad versions. There is no subscription and there are no in-app purchases.
