privacy · recording · proNo. Meeting audio never leaves your device: capture and transcription always run locally, and by default the structured summary, decisions, and cited action items do too. There is no bot, account, telemetry, or analytics, and nothing is ever sent to Silo Systems. In the Mac app you can turn on Bring Your Own Key, which sends meeting text and chat questions (never audio) directly to the AI provider you configure under your own key; it stays off until you enable and confirm it. Transcripts and summaries live inside the App Sandbox container.
SiloMeet captures meeting audio locally on your device. On Mac, that can include your microphone and optional system audio through ScreenCaptureKit. No bot joins, no calendar invite is sent, and the audio is never uploaded. Recording is explicit: it starts when you start a meeting and ends when you stop or discard it.
Only to capture system audio. ScreenCaptureKit is Apple's supported API for recording the audio playing through your Mac (a remote call), and under the current macOS architecture that API sits behind the Screen Recording privacy permission. SiloMeet captures audio samples only — no screen pixels, screenshots, or video frames are ever stored or transmitted. It's optional; if you skip it, SiloMeet still records your microphone.

No. On Apple-Intelligence-capable devices with a supported OS release, summaries use Apple Foundation Models on-device. Other supported devices use an always-available deterministic extractive engine. Either way, every action item cites a transcript line.
Every action item and decision carries a pointer to a real transcript line, and a deterministic citation validator checks that grounding before a summary is trusted — a dangling or fabricated item is rejected, not shown. So instead of trusting a black box, you can tap any claim and jump straight to the verbatim line in the transcript that produced it.
Yes. Press Command-B on Mac or tap Mark moment to add a bookmark tied to transcript time, review it against the exact or nearest line, and export a PDF containing decisions, action items, evidence quotes, owners, bookmarks, engine provenance, and the full line-labelled transcript.
Yes. Recording, transcription, on-device summaries, search, and export work offline. The only outbound traffic is App Store updates, links you choose to open, and two opt-in paths in the Mac app. One is a one-time, consent-gated download of an optional local speech model (about 1 GB, or about 2.5 GB for higher accuracy) from a pinned, checksum-verified revision. The other is Bring Your Own Key, which sends transcript text, meeting titles, and chat questions directly to the provider you configure. Nothing is synced, and the app sends nothing to Silo Systems.
