Privacy policy.

The short version

Ohms Restore collects no data. None.

No analytics. No telemetry. No account. No personal data. No usage metrics. No advertising IDs. No fingerprinting. No crash-reporting SDK. No recording, processing result, file name, device identifier, or app activity is collected, transmitted, sold, or shared by Ohms Restore.

Analysis, repair suggestions, restoration, export verification, and preview all run inside the native app on your Mac. Ohms Restore has no cloud component, helper server, model download, or Silo Systems account, and the app contains no networking code. From version 1.4.2 its sandbox includes the outgoing network client entitlement, only because macOS WebKit's helper processes will not start the bundled interface without it.

What we never see

Because Ohms Restore has no server-side component, Silo Systems never receives your name, email, IP address, device identifier, recordings, project packages, output files, repair settings, processing ledger, session timing, feature usage, or crash data. There is no infrastructure to receive it.

Files and permissions

Ohms Restore is sandboxed. It can read only audio files you explicitly select through the macOS file picker and .ohmsproject packages you open from Finder or the File menu. It writes restored copies only to a destination folder you choose. Source recordings are opened read-only and are never overwritten. An optional JSON repair ledger is saved only when you choose Export ledger, to a location you pick.

Ohms Restore does not request microphone, camera, contacts, location, Bluetooth, local-network, or Full Disk Access. If you select no files or output destination, the app cannot access them.

Data stored on your Mac

These items stay inside the app's macOS sandbox container: app preferences, security-scoped access records for the folders you choose, local counters that pace the optional App Store rating prompt, and plain-text crash logs written after an abnormal termination. When you open a .ohmsproject package, a validated copy is kept in an Imported Projects folder in that container; the app keeps the newest 20 and prunes older copies. The bundled demo recording is copied to the app's temporary folder when you load it.

Your source recordings remain where you keep them. Restored copies and any exported ledger remain where you saved them. None of this data is synced by Ohms Restore or accessible to Silo Systems.

Deleting the app removes the application, but it does not delete source recordings or exported files stored in folders you control. You can remove those files at any time in Finder.

Audio metadata

Ohms Restore supports WAV, AIFF, and FLAC audio. Opaque source metadata chunks are not copied into restored outputs; the app reports that status rather than claiming metadata preservation it has not verified. Metadata is not uploaded or analyzed by Silo Systems.

The network boundary

The interface is bundled with the app and served only from the privateohmsrestore://app origin. Its Content Security Policy setsconnect-src 'none', and the native navigation delegate rejects every external origin. From version 1.4.2 the sandbox carries the outgoing network client entitlement, and only for WebKit's own helper processes, which exit without it and leave the window blank. It carries no network server entitlement, and the app has no URL-session client, remote content, analytics endpoint, model download, or upload service.

Three paths can open services controlled by others:

1. Mac App Store delivery and updates. Apple handles the purchase, installation, receipt, and updates under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. Ohms Restore does not receive your payment details.
2. Rating the app. The Rate button and the matching menu item hand this app's review page to the App Store app. Apple handles that request; nothing from your recordings or settings is attached.
3. Links you choose to open. Privacy or support links open in your default browser. From that point, your browser and the destination website control the request; the recording is never attached.
4. Ratings and reviews. If you choose to rate Ohms Restore, Apple's rating prompt or the App Store review page handles it under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. Apple limits how often the prompt can appear. Ohms Restore attaches no recording, file name, or processing result.

Third-party components

Ohms Restore bundles open-source code that executes locally: libebur128 for broadcast-standard loudness and true-peak measurement, React for the bundled interface, Lucide icons, and three open-source typefaces. It also uses Apple's native SwiftUI, AppKit, WebKit, AVFoundation, and Accelerate frameworks. These components do not receive your recordings or telemetry from Ohms Restore. License notices ship inside the app.

Children's privacy

The same policy applies to every user regardless of age: Ohms Restore collects no personal data.

Changes

If a future version materially changes how data is handled, this page will be updated before that version is released. Any new collection would be disclosed clearly and would require appropriate consent. The current policy remains: nothing is collected.
