The nodes are the map.
Fixed slice-orbs are the actual Markov nodes. Weighted arcs terminate on those exact orbs, and the firefly follows the engine's real latest hop.
Shape samples into terrain. Make chance playable.
A native granular sampler and deterministic Markov sequencer for Mac and iPad. The bundled Demo Loop loads silently; sound always begins with you.

Real app capture · terrain-first interface · no concept UI
Independent, spectrum-colored clouds make source position, semitone pitch, radius, and activity directly editable. Every spatial action also has a semantic accessibility action.
Order/Wild, Near/Far, Memory, gravity, repeat bias, home, and matrix controls all modify the real transition policy. Reweave changes the map, not the fixed seed.
Import, confirmed capture, overdub, DSP, MIDI, and App Group handoff run locally. A finished recording waits for your use-or-keep decision. There is no account, analytics, telemetry, advertising, or cloud audio service.
Fixed slice-orbs are the actual Markov nodes. Weighted arcs terminate on those exact orbs, and the firefly follows the engine's real latest hop.
Create, drag, pinch, throw, and lock up to eight independent grain-cloud halos. Each cloud owns a bounded audible voice and explicit pitch, position, and radius.
A fixed deterministic seed and Reweave make decisions reproducible. Snapshots, motion loops, and take labels persist inside a saved project; captured takes also export as durable MIDI or WAV files.
Edit up to sixteen slice markers — they snap to nearby zero-crossings — then perform with Slicer, Looper, Tape, and Keys. Equal slices and Detect slices sit on the play-mode row.
Use pitch-preserving WSOLA from 0.5×–2× or Drone Horizon from 4×–32×. Drone output is capped at three minutes before rendering begins.
The included aumu instrument supports up to four clouds in compatible Mac and iPad hosts. Its custom view explains four travel modes, exposes full Filter, Delay, and Reverb editors, and starts from eight factory presets. Valid host projects restore headlessly from MIDI; malformed state fails silent. It generates audio and exposes no host-input or microphone path.
Spectrum color ties the PCM waveform, ridges, routes, nodes, playhead, and independent clouds together. System, Light, and Dark keep the same readable hierarchy.
Mic start asks for confirmation. Finished mic, overdub, and optional Mac system-audio captures remain staged until you choose to use, layer, or discard them.
Save the entire session — the sample with its exact embedded audio, slices, terrain, clouds, motion loops, labeled takes, effects, and performance controls — as one .ohmsterrain package that reopens identically on any Mac or iPad. Missing-media repair and automatic crash recovery are built in.
On Mac, a stem sent from OhmSplit or a take sent from Ohm Studio opens straight into Ohms Terrain — as does any audio file you open with it from Finder. Nothing leaves your Mac.
