Up to 16 transient-aware slices that snap to nearby zero-crossings, each with tune, volume, pan, attack, release, reverse, loop, and one of six choke groups, so one hit can cut another off. Detect places markers at the transients; Equal spaces them evenly.

Scroll and zoom the waveform from 1× to 8×, mark a range, cut or keep it, reverse it, and apply pitch-preserving time stretch from 50% to 200% without losing the untouched source.

Slicer taps the waveform to fire the slice under your finger, Looper holds a two-finger loop, Tape scrubs speed and direction by position, and Keyboard plays one slice chromatically. Retune the whole instrument, with A = 432 Hz one tap away in Settings.

Save slice positions, triggers, routes, effects, grain, and per-slice settings, then apply them to another sample in one undoable step. The library keeps up to 256 recipes, exchanged as .ohmsrecipe files with no audio inside.

Tap a star, Fibonacci, pendulum, spiral, or Euclidean preset, or draw weighted routes between slice arcs on the Orbit, then press Run and watch a live playhead show every choice across Weave, Pulse, Interlock, and Drift.

Run a Pulse lane of 1 to 64 steps with per-step openness, arm stutter, reverse, speed, and scratch gestures per slice, morph across a 3×4 snapshot bank, and catch the last 1, 2, 4, or 8 bars as a Take that replays exactly what played.

Up to 128 grain voices with position, size, density, pitch, jitter, reverse probability, and stereo spread, plus a resonant low-pass or high-pass filter, feedback delay, and reverb on every sample.

The full engine and insert effects run sample-accurately as an AUv3 instrument in macOS and iPadOS hosts, with 24 automatable parameters, eight factory presets, and host-saved state. Each instance keeps its own sample and can follow host tempo. The plug-in asks for no microphone, file, screen-capture, or network access.

Play the slices from Mac keys A to P or from MIDI notes 36 to 51 or 60 to 75, fire the four triggers with notes 52 to 55, learn CCs onto grain, effects, and morph, receive and send MIDI clock, and echo Orbit choices out as notes.

Plug in a Launchpad Mini MK3, X, or Pro MK3 and play sixteen large 2×2 color blocks on the Pads page. Switch to Weave, Pulse, or Memory only when you want deeper control, with LEDs following the active state.

Record from the microphone in Take. On Mac, turn on Sample Anything in Take to hold the last 60 seconds of system audio in memory, audio only and never screen frames. A finished recording waits beside the current sample until you choose Use Recording or Keep Current. Export the edited sample as WAV, bounce a caught Take to WAV or a Standard MIDI File, and save everything as one session.

Import through the system file pickers, or index a sample folder you choose into an on-device search library. Search filenames and folders, see each result's measured format and duration, and skip unchanged files on the next scan. Samples and queries are never uploaded.
