Privacy policy.

The current policy is: Silo Systems collects nothing.

The short version

Silo Systems collects no data. None.

No analytics. No telemetry. No account. No personal data. No usage metrics. No error beacons. No advertising IDs. No fingerprinting. No crash reports. Silo Dream never sends your prompts, your images, or anything it generates off your Mac, and Silo Systems receives nothing from the app.

Everything Silo Dream does runs on your Mac, using a bundled local image engine and open-weights model files you download once, with your consent. Silo Systems operates no server, and there is no Silo Dream account.

What we don't have, and therefore never see

Because Silo Systems runs no server for Silo Dream, none of the following exists anywhere in our infrastructure (which consists of: nothing): your name, email, phone, or address; your IP address, device identifier, or any hardware fingerprint; your prompts, your pictures, and anything derived from them; session timing, feature usage, or behavioural data; crash reports. The app never contacts Silo Systems. Its only outbound traffic is the model downloads you approve, which go to Hugging Face.

The local engine is not a network service

Silo Dream runs a small local engine process for generation and editing. The app talks to it over a Unix domain socket inside the app's own sandbox container, not over a network port, and the interface is loaded from files inside the app itself. The engine listens on no network address, so nothing on your network or the internet can connect to it, and the app does not hold the macOS network-server entitlement.

Outbound traffic you initiate

The only outbound network traffic, all user-initiated, and none of it to Silo Dream:

  1. Model downloads. The first time you generate, Silo Dream asks before downloading its 4.62 GB image model from a public open-weights repository on Hugging Face, over HTTPS and pinned to an exact revision. If you choose the larger optional image model in the model picker, it downloads the same way after its own consent screen. Downloads are anonymous: no token, account, or registration is required, and nothing about you or your work is sent, though like any download they reveal your IP address and standard request headers to Hugging Face. Every file is checked against a pinned SHA-256 fingerprint before the model is switched on, and after that generation works offline.
  2. App Store updates. When Apple ships a Silo Dream update, the App Store delivers it. This traffic is between your Mac and Apple's servers. Silo Dream is not involved.
  3. Links you click. If you click an external link inside the app, your default browser handles the request. Silo Dream is not involved.

Permissions we request, and why

  • Files and folders you choose. Import a source image, import a model folder you already have, and export generated images through the system open and save panels, remembered with security-scoped bookmarks on macOS. An imported model folder is copied into the app's own storage; the original is only read.

Silo Dream does not request Camera, Contacts, Location, or Full Disk Access beyond what is listed above. If you grant nothing, it can read nothing.

On-device data you create

Your pictures, their contact-sheet history (the prompt, seed and size of each render), and downloaded model files live on your disk under ~/Library/Containers/com.silosystems.silodream/Data/Library/Application Support/SiloDream/ (plus any folder you explicitly choose to export to). Unless you turn on a private session, a recovery draft of your prompt and settings is also kept in the app's local storage so it can be offered back after the app closes; turning on a private session deletes it. All of this is yours. We do not have access to it. Model files can be deleted from the model picker, and video model files left by an earlier version can be deleted in Settings. Deleting Silo Dream removes the app; your work remains under its container until you delete it manually.

Third-party components

Silo Dream uses these open-source components and one public service. The components run on your Mac. Hugging Face, contacted only during a model download you approve, sees your IP address, a standard user-agent header, and which model files are requested, never your prompts or anything you create:

  • The bundled image engine and its runtime. Open-source, runs on your Mac.
  • Open-weights image models. Downloaded only after you consent, then run on your Mac.
  • Hugging Face Hub. Contacted only when you approve a model download.

Children's privacy

Silo Dream collects no personal data from anyone, so no special treatment is required for users under 13. The same policy applies at every age: nothing collected.

Changes

If we ever materially change how Silo Dream handles data, we will publish an updated version of this page, announce the change prominently in the release notes, and require explicit consent in-app before any new collection begins. The current policy is: Silo Systems collects nothing.
